Let's discuss common testing methods for airtightness leak detectors.

The airtightness tester is a new type of non-destructive airtightness testing instrument and sealing tester. It can be used for testing pressure decay leak detection, vacuum decay leak detection, mass flow testing, burst testing, and other airtightness leak detection and waterproof testing.
Airtight leak detectors produced by manufacturers are equipped with imported high-precision sensors, and the testing accuracy can reach 0.01pa. Widely used in waterproof testing of small household appliances, airtight leak detection of valves and pipe fittings, waterproof testing of communication base station equipment, airtightness testing of medical devices, wire sealing detection, quarantine of outdoor monitoring product seals, leak detection of aluminum alloy die-casting products, leak detection of welding products, and all products that require waterproof, dustproof, and leak prevention.
Common airtightness and sealing detection methods:
The traditional airtightness testing method is the water immersion method (direct water immersion): using water depth and immersion time to correspond to various levels of IP waterproof grade testing. Observing whether there is water ingress inside the product as its judgment standard.
A. Surface tension of water - Water molecules may block leaks; if there is no leak, there are no bubbles.
B. In the case of extremely small leaks, gas molecules can merge into the water - no bubbles are produced.
According to the detection method, the following distinctions can be made:
A. Pressure drop method for leak testing
1. Direct leak detection (positive and negative pressure)
2. Differential pressure direct detection (positive and negative pressure)
3. Indirect leak detection (positive and negative pressure)
4. Differential pressure indirect detection (positive and negative pressure)
B. Flow airtightness leak detection method of electronic airtight leak detector
Introduction to the working principle of the new non-destructive gas detection:
The pressure drop method of the airtightness leak detector determines the leakage rate and leakage value of the precision testing instrument system through a series of samplings, calculations, and analyses based on the same air intake and stable pressure. Detection, and then change the pressure and volume. Based on this data, the OK or NG method can be determined. It is mainly used for waterproof testing of small household appliances, airtightness testing of medical equipment, and leak testing of stainless steel containers. The leak detection principle of this method: Inject a certain pressure and a certain amount of gas into the closed workpiece cavity, stabilize the pressure for a period of time, then disconnect the air supply of the component (the valve is closed), and measure the pressure change after a given measurement time. If there is a leak, the sensor pressure will drop. The price of airtight leak detectors is also relatively reasonable.
It is mainly used for sealing tests of valves and pipe fittings, airtight leak tests of stainless steel welded products, and micro-leak tests of pinholes in aluminum alloy die-casting products. The principle is similar to the pressure drop method, but this method is better. Inject gas at a certain pressure into the sealed workpiece cavity and inject gas at the same pressure into the standard tank. After standing for a period of time, observe the pressure in the standard tank and the workpiece, and observe the small pressure difference on the differential pressure sensor caused by the leak. The leak detector quantitatively calculates the amount of gas leakage of the measured object according to the change in the output of the differential pressure sensor. When the external environment and the work itself are different, the existence of reference materials will minimize the impact of the test. It overcomes the shortcomings of the above methods and improves the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of airtightness testing.
Suitable for testing occasions with low requirements. For example, IP waterproof testing, such as waterproof testing of outdoor electrical products, the method is to pressurize on one side of the cavity and the other side (cavity) to collect leaked gas and minimize the volume of the cavity as much as possible to increase the pressure change rate under unit leakage.
