Explanation of the airtightness tester detection method

Air tightness leak detection instruments can be used for pressure decay leak detection, vacuum decay leak detection, and airflow testing. It is a new type of non-destructive leak detection instrument. Air tightness testers are widely used in the leak detection of small household appliances, valve fittings, communication equipment, medical devices, wires, and security products. The leak detection methods for sealed instruments are mainly divided into direct pressure method and differential pressure method. Different products use different leak detection methods with air tightness testers.
The commonly used direct pressure method for air tightness testers is generally used to measure the total leakage rate of pressure in the test piece. The pressure reduction measurement of the direct pressure detection method is to fill the test piece with gas, and then monitor the change of the internal pressure of the test piece with a pressure transducer to confirm whether the test piece is leaking or the amount of leakage. Due to the simple operation and low cost of the direct pressure detection method, its utilization rate is high. However, because of its low accuracy, the direct pressure leak detection method of air tightness testers is rarely used for the air tightness measurement of precision parts.
The differential pressure detection method is another commonly used method in the use of air tightness testers. The differential pressure detection method uses a high-precision differential pressure sensor to measure the pressure difference between the tested component and the standard component, so that a smaller pressure difference can be directly measured. The pressure difference measurement method is to fill both the workpiece and the standard component with appropriate gaseous medium at the same time, and measure the pressure difference between the two with an air tightness tester within a specified time, and compare them to determine whether they meet the standard. The air tightness of the test piece meets the requirements of the standard component. The differential pressure detection method is simple to operate, has high measurement accuracy, and can be widely used in products with high air tightness requirements, such as electronic components, auto parts, and medical product accessories.
